چکیده
Soil-structure frictional resistance is an important parameter in the design of many foundation systems. The soil-structure interface area responsible for load transferring from structure to surrounding soil. mobilized shaft axially loaded, long slender pile embedded dense, dry sand experimentally and numerically analyzed when subjected pullout force. Experimental setup including instrumented model while finite element method used as a numerical analysis tool. hypoplasticity soil adjacent by using ABAQUS FEA (6.17.1). behavior depends on factors, but mainly soil's tendency contract or dilate under shearing conditions. To investigate this tendency, three piles with different surface roughness confining pressures are used. A dilation observed relation average axial displacement rough medium surfaces, contraction noticed smooth surfaces. large shear strength degradation about (10%) reduction low pressure compared lesser value (2%) high pressure. Good agreement obtained between experimental results.

Shaft Resistance of Driven Piles Based on CPT and CPTu Results Using GMDH-type Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms
Cone penetration test is one of the most common in-situ tests for pile analysis given that by its analogy as a model pile, the measured cone resistance and sleeve friction can be employed for estimation of pile unit toe and shaft resistances, respectively. In this paper, group method of data handling (GMDH)-type neural networks optimized using Genetic algorithms (GAs) are used for modelling the...
متن کاملLong-term bond strength, degree of conversion and resistance to degradation of a HEMA-free model adhesive
Aim: To evaluate the long-term bond strength, degree of conversion and resistance to degradation in ethanol of HEMA-containing and HEMA-free model adhesive resins of a three-step etch-andrinse adhesive system. Methods: The superficial dentin of 16 bovine incisor teeth was exposed, and the teeth were divided in two groups according to the HEMA concentration in the experimental adhesive (0% and 1...
متن کاملDevelopment of Shaft Friction on Driven Piles in Sand and Clay
Despite widespread research effort in recent years, design methods to estimate the shaft resistance of displacement piles continue to rely heavily upon empirical correlations. In an attempt to achieve a more reliable design approach several researchers have assembled databases of instrumented pile load tests and used these to propose new design methods e.g. American Petroleum Institute (API-200...
متن کاملEvaluation of Highway Bridge Strength Considering Parapets
This paper describes a study evaluating increase in design strength, performance and capacity when including bridge parapets in a bridge analytical model. Traditionally, concrete parapets are treated solely as superimposed dead load in an overall bridge structural design. Parapets are detailed from a safety standpoint to resist impact forces from vehicle loading. However, in the global design m...
